What is a Jewish Food: An Exploration (with Tastings) for Youth

What determines whether a food is or is not to be considered a “Jewish Food?” Are there any foods that unquestionably are or are not Jewish? Are the same criteria applied to other cuisines, or is Jewish Food subjected to its own standard? Most importantly, why does it matter what classifies a food as Jewish?
(This is an event for the synagogue’s religious school. An open event that will follow it is a lunch program on the same day.)
